Our Story. is some what similar to most, we come from humble begging...

How we came to be…

Our story is an inspiration to most, we come from humble begging, that has now prepared us to encourage members of the community to participate in our tailored annual projects, events and activities. Our annual projects are designed to promote various art forms at a national-professional and local-amateur level. Tropical Mas will provide experts and high-level art facilities to promote high standards of art, such as traditional, abstract, performance and modern art forms to name a few.

Tropical Mas Association was formed and later established in 2015 primarily to promote the advancement of the arts, culture and heritage within the communities of the royal borough of Greenwich and in due cause the rest of England and Wales. Tropical Mas Association aims to achieve several projects that will bring children, young people, parents, elderly people and families together.

Our vision and objectives are…

Tropical Mas Association vision is to provide a means of bringing members of the community and or people together from diverse cultures and backgrounds and to promote their differences in a way that brings them closer together, to make a positive impact in their various communities within the borough. Tropical Mas Association aims to achieve this through provision of various activities and events focused on history, culture and diversity of arts including street art, performing arts, creative arts, dance, drama, education, career opportunity, social activities and community engagement.

Social inclusion

Tropical Mas Association will promote social inclusion throughout the community by creating a platform for individuals and groups who may otherwise be socially excluded. For your information ‘socially excluded’ means to be excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one or more of the following factors: unemployment; financial hardship; youth or old age; ill health (physical or mental); substance abuse or dependency including alcohol and drugs; discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, belief, creed, sexual orientation or gender re-assignment; poor educational or skills attainment; relationship and family breakdown; poor housing standards; crime.

Collaboration amongst groups

Tropical Mas Association will raise its awareness to the general public, which will in turn help to minimise prejudice, challenges and discrimination faced by the above outlined social minority groups and encourage cohesion in communities. The benefits of Tropical Mas Association for the community include stronger collaboration amongst groups and cohesion which will open up employment opportunities for all and decrease crime rates as well as alleviate the pressure from public funds.

Tropical Mas Association will promote social inclusion by working with different groups in Royal Borough of Greenwich including young people between the ages of 13 to 30 years of age who are excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one or more of the following factors: Unemployment; financial hardship; race; gender; poor educational or skills attainment; disability; ethnic origin; or who are within, or have experienced, the public care or penal system.

Tropical Mas Association will provide opportunities that will aid different groups to better develop their skills and widen their capabilities, giving them functional experience within the Tropical Mas Association organisational operational structure.
