We are inspired by the diverse and active community groups in the Royal Borough Greenwich area and we are proud to be leading Woolwich Carnival parade this year.
The Woolwich Community Carnival Committee is bringing back carnival to Woolwich this summer on Saturday 22nd September, from 12:00 to 7:00 pm at General Gordon Place, London SE18 6HX.
Woolwich Carnival will be a celebration of local culture and community. There will be a parade, led by Tropical Mas, starting at 1 Artillery Place. There will be costumes, live music, dance, community stalls, food and crafts, Tropical Mas steel pan drums and plenty of good vibes – a great way to bring neighbouring communities together as one for a day of collective summer festivities.
The Woolwich Carnival theme for this year is:
Many Roots, One Tree.

Who organised Woolwich Carnival?
The Woolwich Carnival is being organised, led and run by local community members, Woolwich Carnival executives and community groups such as Tropical Mas Artistic & Events Director Dwayne Smith. The Woolwich Carnival members are asking other community groups to get involved. Each community group will contribute in its own way to the carnival; this may be as part of the carnival parade /procession, running a community stall or performing – the Woolwich Carnival committee are open to ideas.
In the run-up to the event, Woolwich Carnival and Tropical Mas will be organising carnival workshops for members of the community and community groups; these will include FREE Creative Arts, Arts & Craft, Costume making, weekly festivals, structure building, drum and dance workshops and more – so register early to get involved.
